Have a little faith

It's a "take the bull by the horns" kind of day... These last few months have been rather testing. The earth seems to be shifting at a rapid pace for many in my life, including myself, and when things change drastically well, who the hell likes that?

Some times complacency can be good, and other times growth or new experiences can be ideal, but when you're forced out of your comfort zone quickly, you sort of have to figure out a new spot to cling to and hold your balance.

Life is unexpected, difficult and scary, but the one thing I know is that it will be ok. And if it's not ok yet, then the shifting is not over. Keep holding on; trust your self, and have a little faith. No matter how hard it gets.

Bravery, Freedom & Family

"Happy Fourth of July!" My family kept cheering this phrase over and over. This day has always meant something so grand growing up; not only as an American, but as a young girl, and granddaughter to a World War Two United States Airforce Veteran.

Due to my grandfather's bravery and the GOOD heroic acts done by him, his fellow crew and all the men and women who currently serve--including my sister's boyfriend of the U.S. Coast Guard--I can walk free as a young lady and look however I want, dress however I want, believe in whatever I want, and now, marry whoever I want.

I'm grateful for a nation that allows families to join together in peace, fellow neighbors willing to help in despair, and the ability to stand on my own front lawn and eat watermelon while simultaneously cheer over a display of fireworks.

You can't get any better than that!

But aside from the hamburgers, hotdogs and tasty desserts, it is family that makes any holiday a joyous one. And as I look into my nephew's eyes, I am reminded of peace, love and the future, and how important it is as adults to stay mindful of our actions and pave a positive way for our little ones.

As my grandfather's generation took care of us, so must our generation take care of the next.

Remember, freedom is not free, and although we may not have world peace just yet, many GOOD men and women suffered or lost their lives so that YOU can continue to stand. Let's keep moving forward America, and show those who fought and continue to fight for us, that it will never be in vain.

"THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE."

...I don't know about you, but that is one phrase I will never get tired of saying.

Makeup Talk: Kandee Johnson Glaminar

Happy Wednesday everyone! As most of you know, I attended the Kandee Johnson
Glaminar with my beautiful sister, Melissa, this past weekend.

The event was held on Saturday, June 27th from 9am to 8pm
at the Sofitel Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

The glamorous day was full of beauty tips, tricks, inspirational stories, hardship stories and how to really market yourself in the beauty industry.

If you don't know who Kandee Johnson is, allow me to introduce her: She's a one-of-a-kind, spiritually embraced, kind-hearted, down-to-earth, mother of four, professional makeup artist and Youtuber. (Below is a recent video of her favorite beauty picks for 2015. Check it out!)

Her "success" story isn't about how she makes millions or drives fancy cars, because she's not that kind of girl. Her true story is about how she treats people, her integrity to stand by her faith, why it's important to value people and yourself, and then of course, she's just a bad-ass makeup artist with incredible techniques. And she shares all of this on her YouTube channel.

We were welcomed right away into the Glaminar by her  "Glambassadors," and handed goodie bags! (Products revealed at the end of this post. Don't peak!)

Finally! The doors open, and every one rushed to the front rows! The AV was playing on repeat, showing Kandee in all her tutorial glory.

Water, candy and notepads were on every table.

Que the music!

Kandee was just about to enter the room, but first, let us take a selfie.

My sister Melissa and I met some of the sweetest girls. (From left to right: Lexi from Indiana, Isabella from Chicago, Myself and Melissa from California) & Jess (not pictured) from Mississippi.

Let the magic begin!

The full-day event was a blast. We were even spoiled with Sprinkles cupcakes...

...and had the best meet and greet to follow. Here is my sister Melissa receiving some great big Kandee hugs!

...giggles upon giggles...

I received a few awesome hugs myself.

And now the moment you've been waiting for - what's in the bag?!
Take a look! Lashes, brush sanitizes, beauty blender, RCMA, and so much more...

I can't say enough good things about the event, the experience and about Kandee. Her core is genuine and people like that can't fake it. No matter how much make up you put on, the real you always shines through.

If  you ever have a chance to meet Kandee, or attend one of her Glaminars, please do so. Her heart is pure gold and people like that just radiate their love to you. And  you're worth that kind of love.

And if you think you're not I'll leave you with one last quote by Kandee herself...

"You're more beautiful than you know, more talented than you think, and more loved than you can imagine.”
