Michael Kors Beauty Loot

New York fashion week may have come to an end, but the residual impression of iconic designers lingers on, and I was lucky enough to snag a few pieces from the Michael Kors beauty line.

Feast your eyes on these beauties!

First on the list, matte bronzers in Beam, Glow and Flush, which range from a soft hue for pale skin, to a deeper shade mixed with flecks of gold (of course) for ultra glam.

Each bronzer comes in a large gold palette and retails for $50 each. I know it sounds like a lot, but look at the size of these things: my hand can barely hold it.

So fabulous! These are everything.

The Bronze Powder Brush has a structured base that's easy to grip and packed bristles that are soft to the touch.

Now, let's talk perfume. The new Gold line has me swooning. Ranging from 1.0, 1.7 and 3.4 ounces, you have your choice of 24K Brilliant Gold, White Luminous Gold, or Rose Radiant Gold

Out of the three, my favorite is the Rose Radiant. Due to its sweeter and lighter notes of florals and light musk combination, I can see myself wearing this scent on glam outings or special date nights.

If you like a stronger scent of wood notes, mandarins and florals, the 24K Gold is for you. If you're the type of woman that wants to feel like you're swimming in your aroma, the more pungent notes of amber, jasmine and pear in the White Luminous is all you, girl. Work it!

Whatever you decide, I don't think you'll be disappointed, I certainly wasn't. The packaging is so chic and structured, just like all MK designs.  I'm a big fan of these pieces, and was over the moon with all the GOLD! Then again, I believe everything should be made of gold. What can I say? I have expensive taste.

Enjoy!

We Remember: A tribute to 9/11

(Photo: My own)

We Remember
By: Lisa Maiorana

We Remember the brave.
We heard about yours.
We Remember the innocent.
We acknowledge yours.
We Remember your families.
They speak of you often.
We Remember the fear.
It was felt through the air.
We Remember your actions.
You chose to help.
We Remember the sight.
It's engraved forever.
We Remember the feeling.
We know you fought for your life.
We Remember your story.
We Remember YOU.

A Date with DTLA

This past Saturday was lovely. I initially had no pre-set plans, but I guess that's usually when the best experiences come.

E and I kicked off our Saturday pretty late (2pm to be exact). We were both tired and feeling a bit lazy from the week but wanted to do something fun, but, what?

After several minutes of researching ideas we finally just decided to jump in the car and drive to downtown Los Angeles. We were pretty hungry by this time, as you can imagine, but couldn't mutually decide on a spot to eat. That was until we remembered a burger spot our dear friend Miguel took us to earlier in the year.

(Past photo): Miguel is my BFF. Incredible human being and outrageously popular. So much so, that most LA local and hot spots know him by name.

We trucked ourselves into Umami Burger. It's no fine dining experience, but the burgers are delicious.

E had the Throwback burger, double patty of cow meat. (Photo not shown).

I tried the Greenbird.  A turkey burger with a bed of rabbit food on top.

Make sure you try the truffle fries as well! They're so good!

After lunch we took a lap around the Art District and snapped a few photos of, and with, the wall art.

E was ready for dessert, and as always, wanted ice cream. He searched up a creamery located in the Grand Central Market. Neither he nor I have been there so we were intrigued with the variety this food mall had to offer.

After shuffling through the crowd, we found McConnel's!

'Two scoops please, we're recuperating.'
(A phrase from a Shirley Temple movie).

Not bad for an impromptu Saturday in Los Angeles. I can't wait to see what new adventures we embark on next time.

Nail Glam

Every girl's a princess. Can you spot my crown?

This fun design came out of the blue, as I stopped into a nearby nail salon to get a full set of acrylic nails put on. I originally wanted something a bit different in style, something rather generic actually, but when that failed, my nail artist and I came up with this. I love it!

Cappuccino powder, clear gel top coat, and a slew of Swarovski crystals made this girl feel like royalty.
